Nicholas Hendershot
(co-advised with Tadashi Fukami)
Nick is interested in how global change drivers restructure the spatiotemporal dynamics of tropical ecological communities. His dissertation work at Stanford focuses on the long-term consequences of climate and land use change for avian populations and communities in Costa Rica, as well as understanding how interactions within multitrophic communities respond to habitat conversion in Costa Rica and Hawai’i. When not working, Nick can be found climbing and backpacking throughout California, playing old-time Appalachian and rag-time music, or birding.
